Mythic Plus is a game mode where you run dungeons against a timer. The difficulty increases as the level goes higher. To succeed, you need to know the path, the boss moves, and how to manage your group. This guide gives you the basics to start your climb.
Preparing Your Character
Before you enter a dungeon, you must be ready. You need the right gear and the right settings.
- Item Level: Make sure your gear is at a level that fits the dungeon difficulty. Check the game tooltips to see what you need.
- Consumables: Bring food, potions, and flasks. These give you a boost to your stats. Do not start a run without them.
- Addons: Use tools to track boss timers and group health. These help you react to danger before it happens.
- Talents: Choose talents that help with damage to many targets. Mythic Plus is mostly about clearing groups of monsters fast.
Understanding the Affixes
Affixes are special rules that change every week. They make the dungeons harder. You must know what they are before you start.
- Check the Weekly Rotation: The game shows you the active affixes on the dungeon map. Read them before you enter.
- Adjust Your Plan: Some affixes force you to change how you fight. For example, if an affix causes damage to the group, your healer must be ready with big spells.
- Focus Targets: Some affixes spawn extra enemies or hazards. You must kill these priority targets fast to keep your group safe.
Dungeon Tactics
Every dungeon has a path. The tank usually leads the way. As a team, you must follow these rules to save time:
- Kill Only What You Must: You do not need to kill every monster. Focus on the packs that block your path or the ones that guard objectives.
- Interrupt Spells: Many enemies cast spells that can hurt your group or heal themselves. Use your kick or silence ability to stop these casts.
- Stay Together: If you are too far from your group, the healer cannot reach you. Stay in range of your healer at all times.
- Use Cooldowns: Use your big spells on large groups of monsters or during boss fights. Do not save them for the end of the run.
Managing the Timer
The clock is your main enemy. You need to clear the dungeon before time runs out.
- Move Fast: Do not stand still between fights. Move to the next pack of monsters as soon as the current one is dead.
- Minimize Deaths: Every death adds a penalty to your timer. It is better to play safe and avoid damage than to die and lose time.
- Learn the Bosses: Read the boss ability list before you start. Knowing what the boss will do allows you to dodge attacks before they hit you.
Improving Your Performance
If you want to reach higher levels, you need to study your logs. Look at how much damage you deal or how much health you heal. Compare your numbers to other players of your class.
